Miss Cape Verde International wants to create a platform for women’s empowerment

Being held for the first time, Miss Cape Verde International held a pre-launch to show Cape Verde’s beauty and a “sniff” of what the big event on September 3 will bring to the country.

There are 20 candidates who will compete for the crown of the most beautiful and represent Cape Verde in a contest that will take place in Japan, also for the first time.

A project that has been involved with MCIC since the beginning, following its presentation by the mentor in 2020.

But, you deceive yourself into thinking that Miss Cabo Vede International is only to showcase external beauty.

Nereida Lobo, Miss Africa USA 2016, the mentor of Miss Cabo Verde International, had already ensured that this is a project to engage and empower women, draw the attention of the world, but also catapult the top candidates to the world stage.

The pre-launch, which had the presence of the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abraham Vincent, was a moment, too, to see and review collections and national brands such as House of Onix, by Ghislene Alves, Cisa Karapati by Mizé Varela, Sama Karaw by Joelma Gomes, Serenity by Ghanaian Nicoline and, still, beach fashion and night wear

This pre-event was also marked by the introduction of a broader concept behind Miss CVI. According to co-founder, Uyi Aigbe Granville, better known as Sam, the team wants to use Cape Verde’s strategic position to create a fashion hub from Cape Verde.

Miss Cabo Verde International is scheduled for September 3rd, from 7 p.m., at Largo Amílcar Cabral, Praia city.
